TALL TIMBERS CHAPTER

 

Tall Timbers Chapter Parents and OA members PLEASE PUT THIS ON YOUR PERSONAL CALENDAR SO YOU WILL SEE THE EVENTS ARRIVING. OA Meetings are the second Thursday each month at

7 - 8pm, and ceremony practice before meeting each month at 6 – 7pm) at Chambers Park, Troop 518 Scout House.

 

I hope this will help you to balance the Order of the Arrow and your personal schedule. My Home phone is 632-8402 / Cell 465-1727 call or e-mail anytime if you have any questions. I prefer the youth to call, if they don’t answer your questions, have them call again until everything is resolved.

 

I will be revising this after each event, so check the revision date and changes below for the latest revision. Please delete old schedule. If you do not want to receive the OA updates, please let me know and I will remove your name from the list.

  Thursday, January15th  (third Thursday this time only),  6pm Ceremony Practice, 7pm

          OA SERVICE MEETING  (change of meeting date due to Adult Round Table change and Holiday)

          NO UNIFORM REQUIRED

     Saturday, January 17th, Tall Timbers District Awards Banquet (no requirement to attend)

     Friday & Saturday, January 23 - 24th, 7pm Friday - 2pm Saturday,

             CHAPTER Officer Training at Pirtle ($5.00). DUES MUST BE PAID TO ATTEND

            We need ALL elected officers to attend this meeting. Official BSA uniform with pants and sash

             Required for chapter officers. Anyone can attend this meeting if interested

    Monday, January 26th - POSSIBLE New Troop Visit in Zavalla about OA for “Chapter of the

            Year” points. Shadey Chapel Methodist Church, 7pm (meet on last Monday of month)

            Virgi Sander - 409-384-2499. The Pack may also need a crossover ceremony soon.

 

     Sunday, FEBRUARY 1st - CUB SCOUT CROSSOVER CEREMONY for Pack 134. Arrive as

          soon as possible after church. Bridge needs to be set up by 12:00 for approximately 1:30

          ceremony. We will stage out of the choir room as usual. Remember to come in something other

          than a scout uniform so it will not be as obvious we are there for the ceremony. We will eat with

          Pack 134 prior to the ceremony. Parents are welcome to observe the ceremony as desired.

          Photos can be taken at any time during the ceremony. (only two cubs crossing over at this time)

          LANCE - RED ARROW, JOSEPH  - LONE BEAR, NICK OR JUSTIN - BLACK WOLF, ZEB

          OR TANNER - DRUMMER. We still need several non speaking parts filled, but not required.

 

 

      Saturday, February 7th, 9:00 - 10-30 am, pack boxes for military support at Senior Citizen

              Center

 

 

     Sunday, February 8th, SCOUT SUNDAY, Attend Church of your choice in full scout uniform

 

 

    Thursday, February 12th - Ceremony Practice 6pm / OA Meeting 7pm

            GAMES  Meeting but will have review on Unit Election procedures and equipment by

            Administration Chief with election team members. We will need a couple of two

            to three man teams to alternate holding elections.

 

 

     Friday, February 13th, Post Colors at opening ceremony for Dessert Theater, 6:30pm

             (arrive by 6pm) Full Scout uniform. This is for  ALA #113 and counts as a service project for

             chapter of the year. See Mrs. Eppley, 639-5302. Need to call with names and rank of people doing

             ceremony. Assign duty by January 15th meeting.

 

 

    Saturday, February 28 - First Baptist Church Downtown in gym, Pack 590 Ceremony, event starts

            at 6:30pm. 10 Scouts Crossing over, Scott Blackerby Cubmaster - 633-4053

 

      Monday, March 2nd - UNIT ELECTIONS BEGIN.

 

 

     Saturday, March 7th, 9:00 - 10:30am, Pack boxes for military support

    Thursday, March 12th - BUSINESS MEETING, 6PM Ceremony Practice, 7 PM Meeting

            Uniforms Please - OFFICERS SHOULD WEAR BSA GREEN PANTS

 

 

    Saturday, April 4th, 9:00 - 10:30am, Pack boxes for military support for anyone not attending the

            Camporee on this day.

 

    Saturday, April 4th - District Camporee - We will be in charge of games for the day, referee, etc.

            (see Melanie Moses for instructions)

 

     THURSDAY, APRIL 9th - Service Meeting - 6pm Ceremony Practice, 7pm meeting,

 

    April 17 - 19th - SECTION CONCLAVE - WE USUALLY SEND A

         CEREMONY TEAM (OR TWO) FOR COMPETITION. This will probably be in northwest

         Texas this year. We will start practice for this in January for past ceremony team members. Any

         new members who wish to do this need to let me know and we will start training now.
